Now that’s a tribute! Can relate to this vibe. We found our ways to live dangerously, didn’t we? It hurts losing musicians, they’re special humans.

I think Ozzy would have loved you and your badass friends for that. Thanks for sharing!

Take it from a guy once called Satan by a deranged parent, you know you're living when you're accused of being on drugs and you're not!

What a potent memory and spellbinding to read!

Great story. In 1982 my best girlfriend, her little sister, and I would glide around her garage-turned-bedroom in short shorts and knee high white socks pretending we were in Xanadu.

I really hope there are still kids out there who do this stuff.

Black Sabbath albums spent many hours on my and my friend’s turntables back in the 70’s. I still have all their albums with Ozzy. They were one of those bands that changed the musical landscape forever. They couldn’t have created a better frontman. RIP Ozzy

Such a natural impulse! The songs are so dang wholesome for the most part.

Fabulous! 🤘🏼😎 And God I miss those free drugs...er... hormones!

This was perfect. Skating in glowing underwear to Sabbath might actually beat drugs...might. Feckin Ozzy could soundtrack freedom, huh. Thanks for capturing this gem.

Learning new things about your teen years all the time. 😂 Great tribute to a man who truly redefined music. Thanks for writing this.

Love it - what an image! You should get someone to illustrate it.

What a wonderful memory and tribute to the innocence of rock and roll. From what I understand of the Grunge phenomenon, it was the love of Black Sabbath above all that brought the metal heads and punk rockers together in Seattle, via Black Flag, among others. Roller skating has a lot of subversive potential in my experience. It is how my life of crime began. At age 11 I began acquiring free passes from winning races at the rink. I would neglect to tell the parents about these victories, thereby acquiring candy money.
